Speakers
- Salla-Maaria Laaksonen (Docent/Affiliate Associate Professor, D. Soc. Sc) works as a Senior Research in the Centre for Consumer Society Research at the University of Helsinki. Her research focuses on communication and organizing in the platform society. Current projects look at organizingwith AI, activism in the hybrid media system, and the sustainability of digital media. She is also an expert in digital research methods and research ethics of using social media data.
- Taru Nikulainen, Managing Director, Brunnen Communications. Taru lives and breathes strategies, influence and stakeholder relations. Being well seasoned in the communication field Taru is also strong in leading change communication and crisis situations. Since establishing Brunnen 14 years ago, Taru with her team has developed Brunnen as one the most appreciated strategic comms agency of the country. At the same time Brunnen has been evaluated as the most business ethical comms agency in Finland.
- Kia Haring, Director, Ethics & Standards, Global Alliance for Public Relations and Communication Management. Kia Haring (M.A.) has more than 20 years of experience in communications and marketing gained in a global context – within energy, technology and sustainable mobility. Recently she worked as a Senior Vice President for Communications, Public Affairs and Sustainability at VR Group, a Finnish state-owned company for passenger and goods transportation operating in Finland and Sweden, prior to that, she was employed by a global tech company Tietoevry, where she held several leader positions in communications, sustainability and marketing. Kia is passionate about developing company reputation and stakeholders’ trust – she also excited about the new technologies and the benefits they can bring to our societies. She has been a member of the executive board for Global Alliance for Public Relations and Communications Management since 2021.
